Polina Kulikova – Ekaterina Zhemaitis (Davidsbündler Duo) (Russia)

Piano duo Polina Kulikova – Ekaterina Zhemaitis (Davidsbündler Duo) was formed in 2014 as a part of A. Bonduryansky and M. Puryzhinsky’s studios at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Since then they have won the 2nd Prize in The I International Piano Duo Competition named after Adolf and Mikhail Gottliebs (Russia, Moscow, 2014) and the 1st prize and two special prizes (“Best Piano Duo” and “Best performance of Sergey Taneyev’s music”) in The V International Taneyev Chamber Music Competition (Russia, Kaluga, 2014). Polina and Ekaterina are now continuing their studies as postgraduates at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.


 Tianran Zhang i Chaoyi Chen  ( China)

Tianran Zhang received his Bachelor’s degree in Tianjin Conservatory of Music (2003–2007), Master and Konzertexam in Musikhochschule Freiburg (2009–2013), Master for Piano duo in Musikhochschule Stuttgart (2014). Chaoyi Chen received her Bachelor’s in Shanghai Conservatory of Music (2010-2014), Master in Musikhochschule Stuttgart (2015).



Aleksandra Furmańska i Paulina Kuchniak  (Poland)

Piano duo Aleksandra Furmanska – Paulina Kuchniak came to an existence in February 2010. In 2014 they graduated from Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk (Poland) in prof. A. Prabucka-Firlej and as. dr. B. Czerwinska-Szymula class. Since October 2014 they are Master Piano duo students of Universität Mozarteum in prof. Y. Tal and A. Groethuysen class. They won: honorary diploma semifinalist at The XVI Edizione Torneo Internazionale di Musica (Paris, 2014), 2nd prize at The 5th “Allegro vivo” International San Marino Piano Competition (San Marino, 2012), 2nd prize at The 22nd Concorso Pianistico Internazionale “Roma 2012” in category four hands (Rome, Italy 2012), 2nd prize at The 15th International Music Competition “Pietro Argento” (Gioia del Colle, Italy 2012), 1st prize at The 12th International J. Zarebski Music Competition (Warsaw, Poland 2012), Semifinalists at The 5th International Piano Duo Competition (Bialystok, Poland 2011). In May 2014 they performed Mozart Concerto for two pianos and orchestra with Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra as the best graduates in the Proms in Gdansk concert.
 



Aleksandra Soboń-Wakarecy i Paweł Wakarecy (Poland)

Wakarecy Piano Duo was founded in 2013. Aleksandra Soboń-Wakarecy graduated from The Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. She is a laureate of the 1st prize of The Norwegian Chamber Music Competition 2012, 2nd prize of The XIII International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Cracow and distinctions for the best accompanying pianist. Paweł Wakarecy graduated with honours from The Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (studies under prof.
K. Popowa-Zydroń) and became an assistant lecturer at his alma mater. In The 16th International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw he was awarded a distinction and a special prize “for the most highly assessed Polish participant”. Wakarecy Piano Duo performed in Poland and in Norway (The Norwegian Opera House, Norwegian Academy of Music, Ringve Museum). They performed live in the Polish Radio Studio.

About Competition

The International Piano Duo Competition is an event of major importance in the Polish music life, especially in Białystok and the Podlasie region, where the concerts of the participants take place. For the numerous international group of piano players those “duet’s agons” are a chance to develop their artistic careers.
